Ryan and I went to see the doctor on 6/26. The big thing for this appointment was the test results for the gestational diabetes and it was normal. We were both relieved about that and very happy. The baby (my belly) Is measuring good and her heart beat is good too. That was about all for this appointment. I am getting really antsy to see her again. We get to go on the 11th of July for another 3D ultra sound which I can not wait for. We have one more appointment with the doctor on July 21 which will be the last appointment here with this office. Then we will start seeing the new doctor in Folsom.

We have choosen god parents for Flora. We chose Torry and Cathy. They are good friends of ours and people we trust very much. We asked them yesterday and they gladly accepted which we were very happy about. We know they share similar views as we do and know they will be supportive throughout Flora’s life. Of course we had to choose people who have a good sense of humor as well which we did. My god parent’s have been there for me and have been supportive of me no matter what. I know that I am very lucky to have such great god parents and we know that Flora will have the same thing with Tory and Kathy.

We are slowly creeping up on moving day and I know time will start to go by fast once the 30 day mark passes. We are moving on July 26 which will be a very happy yet sad day for me. I have been packing little bits at a time and we have already taken a few things to sacramento when we went up last weekend. We are trying to get all the packing done before moving day and organize it so it will that much easier to move since we have to do it all in one day. I will not be able to lift anything, so the more I can do before hand the better. We got a lot done today which is nice to see but I am certainly feeling it even though I wasn’t lifting anything heavy. We are anticipating the move and can not wait to be back with our family and friends in sacramento even though I will really miss my friends here.

I was not fully aware of this condition until the heat came over us this weekend. My feet, because of the heat and pregnancy of course, swell so much that they look like ugly sausages! There is no other term I can think of that would better describe this. Not only do my ankles swell but also my feet all the way down to my toes. When it is really bad I have a hard time moving my toes. They look ugly and are uncomfortable. Ryan highly dislikes this term. I just have no other way to accurately describe my feet in this condition.

The baby continues to grow, as does Sarah’s belly. She looks exceptionally beautiful in this photo taken on Father’s day at 25 weeks.
The baby is moving more and more each day. We think she is practicing kung fu in there since she is able to poke Sarah’s belly in several spots in a short period of time. Better for her to practice her moves now so she can fend off the boys later.

At the beginning of the month we did a 3d ultrasound and boy was that an interesting experience. It seemed we were having an alien, at least thats what it looked like on the screen. The technician explained to us that it was hard to see the baby since she was so small. She was nice enough to offer us another session for free when the baby is further along so we can get a better view.
Here is a side view that was the least freaky looking of the pics.

Ryan and I went to the Dr. for a check up last thursday. Everything looks good with baby and me. My weight is starting to go up which is good because I was losing weight up until about this point. The baby was measuring big by about 1 week, according to the last ultra sound, but the Dr. said it’s nothing to worry about because due dates and measurung the baby by ultra sound isn’t very accurate. It could be very normal. From the last ultra sound the baby looks healthy and there were no concerns that came up from that. I will be going for a glucose test in another week or so just to check my levels. It is a standard test they do at between 24 and 28 weeks. My first glucoase test was normal so hopefully this one will be as well. That’s all for now until next month.

Last night I was taking a bath and was looking down at my belly as Flora was moving around quite vigorously. As she kicked particularly hard my belly moved. I thought I might be seeing things so I kept looking. Shortly after that she did it again and my belly moved. This happened three times and then I yelled for Ryan to come quick. He came into the bathroom and I told him what had just happened so he put his hand on my belly and she kicked again and he felt it. Then she took a bit of a break which she seems to do as soon as Ryan has his hand on my belly. Then about a minute later she kicked again and he felt that too. Then she had tired herself out and was at rest after that. I was so excited that Ryan had finally gotten a chance to feel her move. I have been trying to get him to feel her for about the last two weeks but he could not feel anything. This was a big day for me and I think for him as well.
